Silvretta Montafon:

After Vald am Arlberg we moved to St Gallenkirch (900 m High) where we spent a week riding in Silvretta Montafon.

Silvretta Montafon is the biggest resort in the Vorarlberg.

The great project of the SilvrettaMontafon, ie the grouping of regions and Nova Hochjoch was achieved through the construction of new cables (the Grasjoch & the Hochalpila).

After riding in Sonnenkopf with such big powder sessions, the week end came with foen, … nothing good for us, snow melts and we arrived in Silvretta right after the epics snow conditions. So we will have to find good spots. Shreding in the resort , seeking for good places, faces or whatever to ride, we stoped by the « Freeride Center » where we met Tobias. Working at the Center he gave us advices and we bought the specific folder about freeride in Silvretta. For the next few days Tobias came to ride with us on his days off, so he showed us the right spots to ride.

Good weather day (finally!) …and a little bite of fresh powder. Always better than nothing. We could finally ride the spine lines, the backside, and we came back to the resort taking a shuttle.

we had a great time!

Gargellen:

Gargellen is probably the smallest resort of Silvretta Montafon’s group of resort but has a big potential. : Freeriding, backcountry, ski touring and a good atmosphere.

We wanted to come back the day after to go touring because we checked very nice lines but the weather changed and the visibility didn’t allowed us to do it.

Hopefully, we will to come back… Then a good après-ski at the bar, a live concert, dinner with Austrian specialties and schnaps.

Sweet Austria!

FreeskiFriends – EP6 : // Schnàpsland

First edit of the winter, no perspective of long journey this year because there’s so much snow this winter in Europe.
We decided to enjoy it around home, moving not that far for this one in Austria.
Voralberg is the western side of Austria, the closest from France, in a country where everybody is focused on skiing more than everywhere else, the snow was there, light and deep as we all would love to get everyday.
We just stayed for few days, and were only able to see the top on the last one, but such a blast, so much good time in this country which as a lot to offer for ski, and also for the « après » which is amazing.
Have a good time everywhere you are, and if you want to stay tune. follow those links !
Thanks
